Located in Emstek, Germany, our dynamic BI & Analytics team is currently seeking a skilled BI Developer to enhance our data platform and dashboards, fueling innovation and efficiency across our organization. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a BI Developer at Kalkhoff, part of Pon.Bike, you will translate complex business needs into technical specifications to design, build, and maintain scalable BI solutions using industry-standard tools like Qlik, Power BI, and Tableau. You'll collaborate closely with business analysts to create critical dashboards and reports, ensuring high-quality data delivery that supports strategic decisions across Pon.Bike brands such as Gazelle, Union, Urban Arrow, Kalkhoff, and Focus. Working in a multidisciplinary agile team, including three German and three Dutch colleagues, you will participate actively in development sprints and contribute to our locations in Dieren, Amsterdam, Emstek, and Lithuania. This role requires innovation and collaboration with Business Analysts and Data Engineers, driving forward our data-driven initiatives. Your responsibilities are:

  • Construct efficient data models and scalable dashboards, managing the full lifecycle from conception to deployment.
  • Provide advice to Business Analysts on determining their brand reporting needs and how to follow the BI-team processes.
  • Inspire the BI-community by organizing and continuously improving training sessions together with our training partners.
  • Ensure reporting quality by performing quality checks on data, the BI-developer is responsible for correctness of the contents across the Data Platform.
  • Assess the workload and impact off small changes and large projects together with the rest of the team in refinements.
  • Proactively signal errors in (the interpretation of) data and formulate recommendations for the organization on how to improve the reporting quality.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the market around BI tooling, integrations and the possibilities of visualization
  • Formulate recommendations for the proposed solution direction of projects, discuss alternative proposals with Product Owner and if necessary support in updating the design.

 

YOUR PROFILE:

You are analytically driven with a strong inclination towards data and IT, skilled at communicating effectively and listening attentively. You approach your work with a proactive mindset and maintain a structured method of managing tasks.

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Information Technology.
  • First relevant and successful experience in BI development, with familiarity in using BI tools like Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau highly advantageous. Experience in data-driven environments and/or knowledge of data management practices is a plus.
  • Proficient in Agile methodologies, with the ability to effectively adapt and implement improvements in a dynamic BI development setting.
  • You possess the ability to align stakeholder requirements with technical solutions, effectively translating business needs into actionable data-driven strategies.
  • You are fluent in the language of data analytics and can articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You have the capability to independently develop a vision for data applications and communicate this effectively to your team and across the organization.
  • You have good communication skills and a good knowledge of German and/or Dutch
